Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God for obedience to the faith—to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

A Warm Welcome to All
Welcome: We are pleased that you have come to worship with us at Erskine ARP Church. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, has called His people to gather each Lord’s Day in worshipping assemblies like this. We pattern our worship according to the directives He has given to us in the Bible. We pray that your attendance today will be beneficial to you.
Parents: You are encouraged to keep your children with you in the worship service. If the need arises, we will work to assist parents in caring for their little ones during the service. We are considering the best way to provide for this need as we get started here.
Erskine ARP is a chapel of Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church (CRPC), Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Synod, in Halifax. You can learn more about us at https://www.crpchalifax.ca/.
The ARP Synod (our denomination) was formed in North America in 1782 when the Associate Presbyterian and the Reformed Presbyterian Churches merged. An interesting fact is that the first Presbyterian minister who was called to minister in this area was from the Associate Presbyterian Church in Scotland. He served the Presbyterians here who later build this church building. These early Presbyterians in this area were following in the train of the reformers of the 16th century who laboured to return the holy catholic church (the universal church) to the teaching and practice of Jesus and His Apostles as set forth in the Holy Scriptures.
Today's Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church is committed to the same fidelity to the scriptures. Our desire to establish a new congregation here is in fact a desire to re-established a reformed church in this community that is true to the Reformed Confessions. You can learn more about the ARP Synod at https://arpchurch.org/. We believe that the need for the church to return to its apostolic roots is much needed today.
Our plan is to hold worship services here on the first and third Sunday of every month at 6:00 pm. These will be under the oversight of the session (minister and elders) of CRPC. Our prayer is that by providing biblical worship and preaching, the Lord will gather a congregation here that can eventually call its own pastor and elders and organise as an ARP congregation of Canadian Presbytery. Visit www.ErskineARP.ca for more information.
If you are interested in learning more about what we are doing here and what we want to see as a church, please do not hesitate to talk to us. Before we are able to begin holding weekly morning and evening worship services on this site, we invite you to worship with us in Halifax at 2063 Parker Street whenever you are able. We meet each week in Halifax at 10:30 for morning worship, 12:15 for lunch, 1:25 for prayer, and 2:00 for afternoon worship.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His Father before all worlds,
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;
by Whom all things were made;
Who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,
and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
and He shall come again, with glory,
to judge both the living and the dead;
Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of Life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified;
Who spoke by the prophets;
and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church;
we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
